In today's lesson out of John 18 Peter cuts off the soldier's ear and Jesus reminds Peter that He must be arrested and drink the cup of wrath. We discuss the cup of wrath and the reason it is so important Jesus drinks every last drop of it. Jesus reminds the soldiers that He is God with the powerful statement that He is "I AM". What happens to the soldiers is powerful. This lesson will remind you of God's great love for you!

In this lesson, Jesus has taken the bar of who will be in His kingdom to the highest level in their minds. He said, "Your righteousness must exceed that of the Pharisees and Scribes". That is a tall order in their day. Jesus is taking us back to the heart of the matter, which He has been doing since the beginning of this Sermon.

In this lesson, Jesus encourages His disciples by preparing them for what will come. They do not realize He is about to be arrested and crucified. Not only will they find out their beloved brother, Judas was a phony this entire time but also the Messiah that they thought would free them from Rome was about to be humiliated and crucified.
Jesus is encouraging them and all of us today that we too may fall short and seem to distance ourselves from the cross, but He will always remain faithful to us. We too will deal with Judas. We too will be persecuted for our faith. BUT GOD! has made a way for us to overcome.
This message will encourage your faith, and I believe will transform your life.
